Yesterday I was driving home around 9:30 pm, listening to the radio, when for the first time ever in my experience, the emergency broadcast system interrupted. I was a little worried about what the emergency was. It turned out to be a weather alert -- a tornado watch and possible hail in northern Illinois and Indiana.
Today it is snowing and cold. What?
So I decided that I am grateful to have a warm, secure house to live in, with a sump pump in the basement. I am grateful for my reliable transportation, and that my car did not get hailed on. I am thankful that we didn't have flash floods and that the roads are not icy right now. And I am thankful that I persevered through flash floods, broken sump pumps, and driving on ice, and I'm still fine.
And I'm eagerly awaiting summer.
Here's to summer coming with some lovely weather! Glad you could find so much to be thankful for even in the midst of scary weather!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Snow again this morning, but I'm still looking forward to warmer weather!

ReplyDeleteThe weather drew my attention today too! I'm up in WI and we had an ice storm Fri, followed by a tremendous thunderstorm last night, and snow this morning. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteHere in southern Indiana, we had a rough night, too. We also have much to be grateful for!
ReplyDeleteThe weather was crazy in WV too. This morning we had a severe thunderstorm warning, tornado warning, flash flood warning, and a wind advisory. All within a span of four hours. I'm hoping tomorrow will be calmer but we're supposed to have snow by tomorrow evening. I just wish the weather would pick a season and stick with it.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great positive attitude! Thanks for the reminder of the power of gratitude.
ReplyDeleteI live in Michigan and we have also just been shaking our heads at the crazy winter! So thankful that we are all safe and sound!
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been so tricky this year! Here in norther MN, it's felt like spring for almost a month. I'm fearing those early tornados here, too! So glad you are back this year, Becky, sharing your slices of life!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm happy for the opportunity to do SOL again.
