Inspired by Arjeha (https://arjeha.wordpress.com/2023/03/10/bookshelf-poetry/comment-page-1/#comment-13767) I tried my hand at creating bookshelf poems. It's quite entertaining to see what you can come up with!
These are fantastic! I haven't tried it with my own books, but I know a lot of librarians who challenge students to do this in their school libraries. I once had two books sitting on the shelving cart sitting next to each other. It was the call numbers that got me. They were both fiction books, so the spine label started with F. One book was F/FRE the other was F/POT. So yeah, FRE POT. At an elementary school, lol!
I will definitely try some book spine poetry before the month's over. It's fun! I love yours, especially The Perfect Wrong Note Lies Sleeping. Keep those wrong notes asleep!

ReplyDeleteSo funny! And thank you for the compliment. I is really fun to play around with this.
DeleteI love book spine poetry! I especially like the pairing of "God of the Hive/Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone"
